Introduction

Someday in the future, cars will be able to drive themselves.  In this project, you will learn how to make a LEGO car drive down a line without running into the car in front of it.  This project is very similar to the "Follow the Leader" project, but there is no longer a "front" car.  The cars travel (line follow) in a circle, and distance sensors keep them from running into each other.

Teaching Standards

In this lab students have the opportunity to understand the following:
1. How to create a system that controls movement to accomplish a goal
2. Ultrasonic Sensors
3. Light sensors
4. Computer programming
5. Electronics and motors
6. Dynamics
7. Team work and collaboration

We recommend linking your project's content to the nationally recognized Common Core Standards for literacy in science and math.
